Boulogeorgos<\/strong>, a leading member of our research group&nbsp;<strong>SIRIUS<\/strong>, was honored at the&nbsp;<strong>Research Excellence Awards reception of the University of Western Macedonia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award recognizes his&nbsp;<strong>outstanding research performance in 2024<\/strong>, with particular emphasis on the following high-impact publication:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>A.-A. Alexiou<\/strong>,<br><em>\u201cToward Modeling and Assessing the Disorientation and Misalignment Effect in Optical Wireless Nano-Networks,\u201d<\/em><br><strong>IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications<\/strong>, vol. 42, no. 8, pp. 2009\u20132025, Aug. 2024.<br>doi: 10.1109\/JSAC.2024.3399252<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This work, published in one of the most prestigious journals in the field of communications, makes a significant contribution to the modeling and performance assessment of&nbsp;<strong>optical wireless nano-networks<\/strong>, addressing critical challenges related to disorientation and misalignment effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of this research achievement, Prof. Boulogeorgos was serving as an&nbsp;<strong>Assistant Professor at the University of Western Macedonia<\/strong>.
